The Best Valentine: Romantic IMprov Haiku
Flowers wilt and die./
Chocolate turns to *crud. Poem words/
immortalize you.
*Originally “crap”
A Rose, Knelt: Romantic IMprov Sonnet
A rose, knelt,/
at a dance,/
is scarcely a precursor/
to true romance.
Nor does it show/
any gentlemanly side./
It simple shouts out/
for attention, with pride.
Much more kind/
is the man who just/
treats women with respect/
and so gains their trust.
For ’tis not with the outward loud showing,/
but with inner kindness which sets women’s hearts glowing.
Not Going There: Romantic Improv Haiku
I don’t want to “go /
there” because I’m enjoying/
here so much right now.
Jaw-Dropping Red Dress: Romantic IMprov Haiku
I tried to type a/
gracious red dress compliment./
My jaw hit the keys.
Recalling Two Moments At Her Birthday Dance: Romantic IMprov Iambic Poem
When I gazed into her eyes/
I sighed,/
and was bereft/
and denied/
the chance/
to further dance/
and twirl/
and give the birthday girl/
her daughter’s window scraper.
Birthday Girl: Romantic IMprov Haiku
She is, still, always/
the dream I have in mind when/
I imagine it.
To The Poet Who Keeps Writing About A Woman He’s Not Marrying: Romantic IMprov Limerick
While I keep reading such words,/
I still find them slightly absurd:/
You’ve not taken her away!/
Shouldn’t emotions expressed this way/
be acted upon, and not just heard?
Plus this couplet:
(I’m not meaning to be critical. /
It just seems to be such a riddle.)
His Garden, Broad: Romantic IMprov Haiku
He’d always grown both/
daisies and roses, but he/
liked wildflowers best.
Scary: Dreams Come True: Romantic IMprov Haiku + Iambic Poem
I finally learned/
why I’ve stayed so distant. Fear./
She’s the Goddess, dreamed.
AND
When teenage boy dreams
and fantasies
turn into adult man
realities,
they still can be
scary.
