if it feeds your soul.

Teach A Man To Fish Starvation: Revolutionary IMprov Haiku

You may teach a man/
to fish, but if he won’t go/
where they swim, he’ll starve.

My daughter: Before/
she ran with wolves, she danced with/
salmon, spied turtles.

Her long departure/
caused him to wonder where she’d/
gone and to do what.

He imagines hugs/
of him, spiritual giant,/
safely holding her.

He wondered why a/
joyful, deep confirmation/
would be a bad thing.

He wondered how it/
would feel to be acknowledged/
as the too-short friend.
OR

He wondered how it/
would feel to be acknowledged/
as the overlooked love.

She claimed she was shy,/
but her witty repartee’/
blew up that theory.

Her comments about/
comparing our poetic/
talents begged questions.

There are times when I/
meet tempting, fiery women/
who are just teases.
