Just when you think it’s/
safe to open up your heart,/
you learn that it’s not.

There was a goodbye /
with no hug. This feeling of/
silence is much worse.

It’s now been more than/
24. I’m proud of my/
control despite pain.

Ain’t it good to know/
you’ve got a friend? No. Not when/
you think you might not.

Although we’re now near,/
for as distant as we are/
it could be Texas.

The emptiness that/
fills my ears is only matched /
by my heart’s black hole.

Moonlight memories/
multiply many times for/
me when fully seen.

You may be waking./
It’s selfish to tell aching,/
But I wish I could.
