I wait for her to
Wake, to reach out, to want me
More than I need her.

My feelings have changed./
Like the sun rising o’er lakes,/
I comprehend peace.

She says I goo her/
when I woo her. I’m cheesehead/
bred, so she melts me.

“He fits much better.”/
She called and said. Why’s she/
surprised I’m happy?

Silk lake reflects me./
Full moon peaks through gauzed cloud wisps./
We both gaze alone.

I’ll wait to wake you./
The moon’s setting in the West./
I wish you were, too.

Her eyes are soft. Like /
butterfly’s wings, they have that /
effect on my soul.

There is a long, black/
landing strip. I watch her land,/
anticipating.

It’s your choice. I give/
you voice. Lead and guide our talk,/
or in silence walk.
