I thought breaking up/
through email was awful. No./
Silence is much worse.

When you are jealous,/
I talk it out. When I am,/
you leave me hanging.

She keeps asking if/
I want to end us. I, at/
last, understand why.

I never get glad/
photos of her smile. Instead/
I get office mold.

When she stops writing,/
calling, and longing, someone/
else has filled her needs.

Someone else got her/
vaunted Saturday slot. I’m/
surprised how quickly.

I’ve heard of “OOPS!”:/
Photo-texts not for your eyes./
At least she’s happy

I lay, phone in hand./
Anticipation is dumb./
It keeps me awake.

Do you just want some?/
Does it matter who it’s from?/
I just said “yes” first.
