For a cycle to be/
broken, sometimes you’re required/
to climb off and wait.

Sure. Why not. Why does/
it matter? Why should I care?/
No one else seems to.

It will be a strange/
day when I am ready at/
last and she is not.
Or
Will she feel strange and/
odd when I’m at last ready,/
but she is not close?

I so often will/
substitute “she” for “you”, but/
she* knows who I mean.

Having not heard from/
you and then fin’lly hearing,/
I’m glad you’re not dead.

Now that I have left/
my tracks all over your phone,/
I just feel foolish.

How can I tell you/
I’m happy just being Dave/
when that is a lie?

As I suspected,/
leaving you a message left/
insufficient time.

Deep words that expose/
my heart and soul are not to/
be left openly.
