Serving in His House daily /
directs me safely.

Stalk red rhubarb’s stalk/
if you dare, but eat not her/
poison’d green leaves fair.

I shall refrain from/
quoting what Shakespeare once wrote:/
Smite that jealous Moon.

She might leave the dime /
there, reminder of the time /
he showed how he cared.

Would it be a big/
mistake to invite her for/
a Philly cheesesteak?

After he’d emptied /
his glands, she only hoped that/
he had washed his hands.

He had the chance to/
meet and woo, but instead chose/
to create more verse.

It’s mornings like these,/
and afternoons like that, when/
I miss our deep chats.

The wordsmith, struck dumb,/
had no words to respond to/
her emoticon.

Were she to propose/
to me with verses tawdry,/
I’d accept quickly.
