Boy and girl, inert,/
at the bar. Both are wearing/
black and white striped shirts.

It is only a/
nightmare when I awaken/
and find she’s* not there.

I have learned I should/
always purchase my footwear/
based on how they taste.

Some tell us to quit. /

To discover you/
aren’t viewed how you think you are/
can make you sick quick.

When we stop wond’ring/
if some think our actions dumb,/
we learn they’re awesome!

I offered to write/
a gift poem. She said I had./
I won’t pen again.

The small-town graveyard/
is the last distillery,/
creating spirits.
