new hairstyle, tan, smile, style, look, /
my heart lept with joy!

It’s sad when you know/
this is finito and she/
talks with some new guy.

Though you and me may/
disagree, we should be glad/
we have voices free.

I once built a cairn./
She knocked it down. Now I’ve fixed/
a sculpture of sticks.

I just wanted you
To want me regardless of
Opportunities.

I hiked behind a pink
who suddenly let out a stink.
(S)He put me on the brink
of changing how I think

about underwear
and fresh mountain air.

I’m still alone when/
she won’t phone from Salt Lake or /
San Antone. I moan.

Why moan?

Blue and red robots/
dance with sunflowers to make/
strange but sweet street beats.

OR

Red and blue robots/
and sunflowers make strange but/
sweet street bedfellows.

Go to bed the way /
you should. From now on you can /
sleep well and be good.

You will get many flowers,
but few chocolate ice cream cones.
You will get many suitors,
but few you’ll want to take home.

You’ll get many earnest guys
who’ll woo you with sincere words.
You’ll get many zealous men
whose attentions you’ll quickly spurn.

You’ll get many ogglers
who will proclaim your beauty.
You’ll get men with no vocabulary
who will simply call you “cutie”.

But when these all have failed the test,
turn to me: the kindest, funniest, most sensative best.
