Although you asked me/
to not worry about you,/
I’m still going to.

Large Small Talk: Revolutionary ConTEXTing Haiku

She said she didn’t/
like small talk so I tried to/
give her larger talk.

Few folks are as smart/
as me so I am in awe/
of straight common sense.

Why in a desert/
do downspouts not splash water/
onto the parched earth?

OR
… splash the rain/
on the thirsty soil?

Geese fly fast in the/
howling lightning storm, honking/
power and freedom.

OR
Geese flying into/
the teeth of a lightning storm/
look free and … (no words).

OR
Geese fly into the/
howling teeth of a lightning /
storm. Power. Freedom.

Feeling guilty for/
thinking, not doing, something/
you shouldn’t? Progress!

It’s ironic how/
the song “Under Pressure” makes/
me feel much less so.

This morning, being/
the first in meant something much/
diff’rent than the song.

Just because you don’t/
know how doesn’t mean you can’t/
learn how to do it.

It’s said that if you/
take a plant from its source of/
energy, it dies.
