seeing a sunbeam come up/
until this morning.

I don’t remember/
clothes being so warm, but at/
this point, I don’t care.
Or
I don’t recall my/
clothes being so warm. At this/
point, I do not care.
I recall her first/
photo: Manicured fingers/
and pink parted lips.
(Sung to the tune of “Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer”)
Well I’ve known brunettes
and redheads, accountants and funny ones.
Short ones and tall ones
and ones with hair bleached by the sun.
But do I recall
the greatest lover of all?
Not yet.
Does she recall, at/
all, laying in bed, folded,/
hearing the rain fall?
Each time I nearly/
scald myself, I recall how/
she liked to shower.
Recall your good past,/
but seek out and believe your/
future awesomeness.
OR
Recall your good past,/
but see, seek and grasp your now/
and future awesome.
