Her Heartache, His Heartjoy: Romantic IMprov Haiku

There are women who/
feel heartache even as they/
make men’s hearts take flight.

Going to the beach,/
I wasn’t expecting to/
find a water bed.

In my basement in/
Utah, streaming, tears, Sounders/
’til I die. Scarves Up!

Everyone says “Wow!/
You* are so beautiful!” Like/
that’s a big surprise.

Too often my truth/
gets changed to fit my desires./
I must obey Truth*.
OR
I must obey Him.

You know rev’rence is/
poor when you want to go to/
the hall. It’s quiet.

I don’t care who knows/
what I did wrong. I can then/
speak of repentance.

He begged her to just/
imagine that she is the/
stuff dreams are made of.

AND

If his dreams mattered,/
then she was and is that stuff/
dream girls grow out of.

She stood, beautiful,/
not knowing she was. He could/
just repeat the truth.
