Sorry, Oshkosh! This/
evening’s airshow at the lake/
was free (and better!)

Going to concerts/
solo reminds me how much/
I hate loneliness.

I was going to/
watch fireworks, then decided/
to watch fireflies dance.
OR
I was gonna watch/
fireworks fly, then decided/
to watch fireflies work.

Have I become too/
old, at last, to want to go/
out dancing weekends?

The red disc slowly/
slips beneath the horizon.
I can’t help but yawp.

Relic of long gone/
eras carries festive folk/
to see free sunsets.

Sunsets, just like life,/
are made more beautiful when/
there’s stormy weather.

It is sunset, and /
time, not to rhyme, but to yawp,/
or you might miss it.

I’ve concluded that,/
in Nature, there are far more/
than 50 grey shades.
