My phone’s battery died. Don’t/
read into silence.

I see her deep pain./
I know how I would have been./
I’ll help grow her heart.

She need not ask why/
her grandkids act royally./
It’s their heritage.

When she asks if I’m/
grooming others to replace/
her, it makes me puke.

Could she ever think/
I’m confused about my path?/
I’m not a player?

When I advocate/
for service projects but then/
I don’t show up? Fail.

I’m not a playah./
Really. I’m too insecure./
I try to be nice.

It’s fantastic* when/
she says that, because of you,/
she can be herself.
