see all your best body parts?/
Not a compliment.

When she says I can’t/
see all my best body parts?/

Doing Something: Haiku

Why do we think that/
not doing something means not/
doing anything?

Why do we feel that/
not doing something means we/
don’t do anything?

Why do we think that/
not doing one thing means we/
should do nothing?

My revolution/

resolution cost me naught/

but a reframed view.

I spent years like this:/

Edge of bed. Curled up. But not/

with her. This hurts worse.

Before, I had angst/
to reach out my hand. Now, I/
fear op’ning my mouth.

As I age, I learn: /
Folks wont drop everything to/
hear my opinion.

My inside hero/
died until I showed him my/

new revolution.

When you care what folks/
think, one dumb Facebook post can/
ruin your whole day.

This morning I thanked some/
firemen because I’m grateful/
every day for them.

OR
… firemen cuz I’m grateful each
day for what they do.

After weeks of heat/
and dry, I don’t mind feeling/
cool rain on my face.
