When the going gets/
tough in my life, I cast a/
lure in the water.

Why do 70’s/
love songs make me miss her, a/
60s girl, right now?

Did I get* what I/
wanted or give her what she’d/
never known about**?

Amidst all downtown’s/
pollution and decay, still,/
Nature finds a way.

My children all have/
their own pain, but today they/
helped take away mine.

I’d have thought that a/
Father’s Day wish from her was/
not an afterthought.

Thank goodness for dumb/
texting mistakes or I would/
never hear from her.

Giving someone space/
just means they leave and then you/
find out who you are.
