Moonlite slatted through/

blinded windows and barren /

trees makes me lonely.

I don’t know how to/
say I’m sorry for wanting /
to see you too much.

Why does my phone ring?/
It’s midnight! I’m a late night/
verbal booty call.

If powerful and /
deep, poignant feelings aren’t shared,/
then what have you got?

Her late night text said: /
“I want you.” I was happy./
Then I learned: Wrong guy.

It was fun while it/
lasted. It just didn’t last/
long enough for me.

Self preservation,/
at some point, means you protect/
your heart. Cry goodbye.

If she only brings/
you gloom and heartache thinking/
of her, you should stop.
