night missive he’d give?

I have long said: “Just/
a few minutes!” and not come/
back. Now I get it.

You Interested?/
If so, be there. Don’t just say/
so, then not show up.

I’ve learned I’m groovy./
But even groovy guys can/
get their feelings hurt.

Feelings of desire/
stir in me old memories:/
Shame and foolishness.

Feelings of desire/
stir old mem’ries of shame and/
foolishness in me.

Not knowing who first/
rose to see this, I’ll just say/
I’m glad feelings bloomed.

Why do we often/
fear anticipation of/
potential brilliance?

With morning’s longing/
I reach out for you. I just/
can’t stretch far enough.

With morning’s longing,/
I reach out for you. It’s hard./
You’re too far away.

I will have to be/
amazing to attract your /
