Garden and Boston/
books will go on shelves. The sharp/
cheese I’ll save for me.

The Old Servant: Revolutionary ConTEXTing Haiku

He’s almost a full/
century old, and still prays/
for a chance to serve.

Almost invalid/
and a century old he/
still prays to still serve.

Why apologize/
when emotions are near the/
surface and flow free?

When you want to watch/
and embrace the sunrise, you/
may greet clouds instead.

She kept smiling at/
me, changing my morning mood./
Babies uplift us!
Or
Babies lift our souls.

When we do what we’re/
told, it’s not friendship that’s put/
aside, but our pride.

She thinks I’ve not known,/
or, knowing, don’t care. Both wrong./
She’s been in my prayers.

What more can I do?/
What can I give up to serve?/
How can I change lives?

The smallest flicker/
of belief can help us through/
tough times ’til we blaze.

Do I substitute /
my Facebook friends for having/
real relationships?
