Making Choices: Revolutionary ImproVerse Rhyming Haiku
Good, better or best:/
Not just advice, but love’s test./
Which path will we choose?
Who Am I: Romantic IMprov Rhyming Poem
Confused /
by femme attitudes,/
I soon knew/
I must face the task/
and ask/
a desired woman/
a difficult question.
Thinking twice,/
I sought advice/
from a female friend./
She looked at me, and then/
She queried, soft and slow: /
“Why ask me? You are Cyrano.”
And I recalled there’s always room/
for another white plume.
Taking Advice From God: Revolutionary ImproVerse Haiku
We all get road maps.
We all get guidance.
We all get advice
from different sources.
Why not get
counsel and advice
from Someone Who
loves us perfectly
and Who only
wants our highest
and best good,
with no ulterior motives?
Friends’ Charity: Revolutionary ImproVerse Haiku
When you spend your day/
helping friends feel better, then/
that’s charity, too.
Shut Up And Live! Revolutionary ImproVerse Haiku
I should stop telling/
others what to do — or not — /
and just live my life.
Where I Shall Not Go: Revolutionary Blogging Sonnet
I shall not, today, go to classes
where old men wittily incite the masses
to laugh, with fake spirituality,
at jokes too oft said inappropriately.
I shall not go later to dessert
with those who smile, but often hurt
with backstabbing comments and bad advice,
(thought they’re only guilty of trying to be nice.)
I shall write poetry instead;
allowing sweet muse to clear my head.
As the train’s gentle rhythm rocks me to and fro,
into the joy of my creative mind I shall go.
For it is there, when I’m most dazed and confused,
that I can find my kindest refuge.
Friends’ Nice Advice: Revolutionary Improv Rhyming Haiku
Why do I ask friends/
for advice? What they give is/
never very nice.
