One goes to worship/
at the Temple. One sleeps with/
others. Such a choice!

No Answer Helps: Romantic IMproVerse Haiku

Staring at a read/
screen, with no answers in sight,/
doesn’t calm my fears.

How much time did she/
spend on me? How much effort
did she spend on him?

When I see candy,/
I wonder if she also/
remembers my warmth.

With his spilling* still/
in her sheets, there’s no reason/
for me to be there.
Or
*sweetness

Why does her name sound/
familiar? Why does it call/
like distant water?

I want to be loved/
for what I think I can be;/
how she believes me.

When she bowed her head/
to cry like others had, I/
thought I had hurt her.

When and how do I/
Let her know that I’m letting/
her go as she asked?

How can she read my/
poems about the moon and not/
know they’re meant for her?

OR
know they’re about her?
