Though I messed up once,/
I still believe and will try/
eternal marriage.

My ad lib lines are/
not well rehearsed. In fact, they/
are not lines at all.

Ive done everything/
she asked me to. Now what should/
I do? Wait for her?

I found a poem I/
wrote her in late December./
Will she remember?

When she stands up and/
moves to another table,/
that’s a clear signal.

Happy, she leaned in/
to give me a kiss. Which way/
should I turn my head?

I finally did what/
she asked. It’s her turn to make/
me wait as she’ll change.

Did she expect me/
to be perfect when she met/
*me? How is that fun?
Or
*me? Where’s adventure?

It’s her birthday. All/
I want to gift her is my/
changed and reformed life.

What if I, at last,/
am ready and she, after/
this long wait, is not?
