While I must write, then
I should write so my kids, kin,
and all learn of Christ.

Bell Bottom Intentions For High School Reunions
Backstory: As I prepared for my 50th High School Reunion (including registering on-line on the high school’s reunion site), a woman I barely knew and I started writing about past intentions, bell bottoms, and memories. One evening, I wrote several haiku based on life reflections… and thinking about wearing hip-hugger bell bottom’d jeans to the reunion.
Wearing bell bottoms
removes our blues, if we let
them make us groovy.
Put out intentions
for what you want, what you need,
what is right. They’ll come.
I fear to again
wear hip hugger jeans, for my
hips have long vanished.
[giggle].
I arise in a
zone, long ago forgotten,
searching with new eyes.
Hurt, Not Joy Or Hope: Haiku Lament
Get No Being Satisfied
As long as I’m as/
I am, those with me will stay/
never satisfied.
Lands Of Light Stall: Haiku
I want to go to/
lands of light, but not ugly,
so I stall tripping.
Bluetooth Hearing Ignoring Non-Communication: Haiku Lament
If you don’t listen,

Why Should I Care Slumber: Free Verse
She wants more,
cracks open the door,
slowly shutting it
as he droans on,
drones on
and on
and when he asks
what she needs
“Nothing.”
“What do you want?”
“Nothing.
I was wondering who
you were talking to.”
And doesn’t that really ask
the penultimate question?
“Who am I talking to?
What am I talking to?
What am I talking to who about?”
Does it matter?
Why should I care?
As I slip into
the abyss
of Nyquil-induced slumber,
I can only hope my alarm
eventually wakes me up.
And then,
that I won’t need melatonin
to go back to sleep
again.
