No one else seems to.

If you lose weight, then/
walking barefoot becomes foot/
reflexology.

OR
If you lose weight, then/
walking barefoot on a rural/
roads won’t hurt as much.

It will be a strange/
day when I am ready at/
last and she is not.
Or
Will she feel strange and/
odd when I’m at last ready,/
but she is not close?

It’s not that we’re not/
speaking the same language, but/
that we’re not talking.

Mother’s Day started/
as a world-wide petition,/
by mothers, for Peace.
Or
Mother’s Day started/
not by Hallmark, but mothers/
to establish peace.

If you are worried
about Mom’s health, hold her hand./
She’ll crush your fingers.

In church today I /
learned about coveting my/
neighbor’s belongings.

I didn’t know that
personal righteousness was
a goodness contest.

You were the mother
of my escape,
of the start
of the birth
of my
(as yet unfinished)
self-discovery journey.

who set my feet on the path
that opened up my soul
and my heart
and my mind
to what could be
and should be
