When you have much to/
cleanse in your life, it’s hard to/
think of He who cleans.

4 A.M. Sorrow: Romantic ConTEXTing Haiku

He’s sad he can’t sneak/
down the long corridor and/
hug* her this early.

He, rushed, didn’t have/
the whole experience he’d/
paid for. She, still, did.

Eternal rhythms/
of waves and wind reset my/
internal peaceful.

If folks don’t want to/
see me they won’t try to see/
me, so why should I?

I should stop telling/
others what to do — or not — /
and just live my life.

I called myself the/
“Stu–” word, but the kid said “NO!”/
And you know? He’s right!

Props to the kid in/
the red sweatshirt — and Dad — who/
left and still returned.

Every morning I/
tip my hat to the flag. Why/
not? We live awesome!

If you don’t ask, the/
answer’s always “No”. If you/
do, it still may be.
