You admonish me.
Writing flows eas’ly to keys.
My battery is dead.

You want at least 10.
I’ve seen your face and your form.
That’s what you’d be judged.

Because my phone (where I usually write my ConTEXTing Poems) was without battery, a friend suggested “Use a pen and paper instead!”. She gave me a challenge to write 10 poems in 20 minutes. I didn’t do it… but it was a reminder of how we can let technology stiffle our creativity because we don’t have the right “tools”. The next 6 poems (or so) were written while my phone battery was dead.

Perfect Ecstasy./
Your ability astounds. /
Don’t now turn your head!

You’re standing nearby./
We’re slightly separated./
Missing you still hurts.

Spring plum blossoms bloom./
Wireless, I connect streamside./
Look! My new office!

To haircut or not?/
Look trim for summer, or give/
her something to grab?

Sweet lavender scent./
Memories stretch like spun silk./
They wrap ’round my mind.

Creamy decoutage’./
We’ll search for and gather rocks./
I’ll till her garden.

Her best friend hot pad./
Her sleeping pills and ear plugs./
How does she wake up?

You’ve got me thinking./
My brain thinks how much I like /
thinking about you
